0090 Extrusion molding machine solves the bridge in the quantitative feeder hopper.

This is an introduction to a case study on bridge prevention measures for the hopper of a volumetric feeder in an extrusion molding machine.

We installed a Brody Disk Mini in the upper hopper of the twin-screw feeder because the powdered mixing materials occasionally formed bridges. This prevented the occurrence of bridges and blockages, allowing for a smooth flow of powdered materials and stable continuous extrusion molding. Methods to prevent rat holes and arching phenomena in bulk materials include air aeration using air nozzles and impact methods using air knockers or electromagnetic knockers. However, our equipment enhances the fluidization of powdered materials through the following combined effects: - Air flows along the inner wall of the hopper from all around the rubber disk. - The rubber disk vibrates, transmitting that vibration to the bulk materials. While it is not guaranteed that this will work 100% for all materials and conditions, there have been many cases where it has provided a "one-shot solution" in situations that could not be resolved by other methods, and the cost is minimal. At the carbon calcium supply facility, we received a consultation regarding the occurrence of a bridge in the hopper during the loading from the bulk bag, which prevented the screw feeder from discharging. In response, we installed three blow discs on each of the two inclined surfaces of the hopper (total of six). 0427 Resolving accumulation in the incineration ash hopper

Air injection and vibration along the hopper's inner surface are effective! A brodie disk has been installed to eliminate the accumulation occurring at the gently sloped corners.

This is a case requested by a plant engineering company. We received an inquiry regarding a large hopper (square hopper) for incineration ash, where ash accumulates in the corners of the lower 1/3 to 1/2 of the hopper. Unlike mesh-type air relators, the blow disk injects air along the inner surface of the hopper and vibrates, making it very effective. There is no need to worry about mesh clogging. There are many varieties of materials, and we received high praise from the customer for solving everything!

We would like to introduce a case where the issue of residual discharge occurring in the weighing hopper was resolved using a "Blow Disk." A customer consulted us, stating that there was a significant amount of residue adhering in the carbon black weighing hopper, and although they attempted to address it with a knocker and a vibrator, it was unsuccessful. They inquired whether the Blow Disk could help. We lent our product to the customer, who installed it in a dummy hopper and confirmed the air injection and vibration. After reviewing the hopper design, we provided recommendations for the appropriate model and configuration. As a result of the implementation, the residual amount was reduced to about 500g. The customer praised us highly, noting that there are many types of materials, and we were able to resolve the issue for all of them. We would like to introduce a case where a Brodisk was implemented to prevent bridging of resin grinding materials. In certain raw materials, a mixture of virgin materials and grinding materials is used, but when the proportion of grinding materials exceeds a certain level, bridging occurs. In this case, it could not be prevented by an air knocker, and we received inquiries on how to prevent bridging. After reviewing the raw materials (mixed products) and the hopper design, we provided guidance on the recommended arrangement of Brodisk and it was implemented based on our recommendations. 0214 Preventing Blocking of Wet Powder

Introducing examples of preventing resin powder blocking inside the hopper.

We addressed an issue at a resin manufacturing company where "the resin powder was blocking in the hopper, making it impossible to extract with the twin-screw feeder." In this case, the raw material had a high moisture content, so the operating pressure was also set higher (resulting in increased air consumption). Additionally, due to the installation of multiple units (20 units), we used a controller with 10 solenoid valves to sequentially turn on the air for two units at a time. 【Flow of Problem Resolution】 1. Upon examining the raw material, we determined from experience that it was quite troublesome. → We proposed a close installation of multiple units. 2. We lent a demo unit, which was installed by the user in their existing hopper for testing. → It was found that there were areas where blocking was not resolved when the distance from the unit increased. 3. Introducing a case of a blow disc adopted by a powder equipment manufacturer.

This is a request from a powder handling equipment manufacturer. A bridging phenomenon occurred in the raw material feed hopper of the equipment delivered to the user, which was not initially anticipated. After installing a knocker, there was no improvement, and they inquired if there was anything that could be done. We proposed installing a total of four Brody disk standard types: one on each of the two sides and two on the remaining side with a relatively gentle slope, and they decided to implement this solution. 0443 Resolving the bridge of carbon-containing dust

We are providing information about the installation locations and control examples of the Brodisk according to the customer's requirements!

We would like to introduce a case where this equipment was implemented to address bridging issues in a dust collector hopper for local exhaust ventilation. The dust being collected contains carbon, and there is a period when the original material is left outdoors in a bulk bag, which particularly absorbs moisture during rainy weather, leading to bridging. The bridging situation occurs right above the discharge device (rotary valve), where we installed four units, one on each side in this area. Clogging of crushed elastomer (TPO) products.

The results are very good! I would like to introduce a case where a total of 3 items were adopted.

The customer contacted us requesting to borrow a "Broady Disk Mini" because the crushed material was getting stuck in the hopper. Since the hopper in question was a small rectangular hopper, we prepared and sent four units of the Broady Disk Mini "BD-08S type" for the customer to try out. There was a viewing window on one side of the hopper, so after installing one Broady Disk Mini on each of the two opposing sides of the remaining three sides and testing it, it was concluded that while there was an effect, it would be even better to install one on the last side as well.
